You’ll Love What Merle Haggard Did To Barack Obama Just Before His Death

The country music world is still in mourning for legend Merle Haggard, who died on Wednesday at the age of 79. Just two days later, a quote of his in which he slams Barack Obama is going viral, so Haggard is quite literally humiliating the president from beyond the grave!

“In 1960, when I came out of prison as an ex-convict, I had more freedom under parolee supervision than there’s available to an average citizen in America right now,” Haggard once said in an interview, according to The Political Insider.

A lifelong Republican, Haggard always spoke highly of former President Ronald Reagan, who pardoned him after he spent years in prison for committing armed robbery at age 20.

“He was a wonderful man in my life. He gave me a second chance at life in the form of the pardon he gave me,” Haggard said of Reagan in 2004, right after the former president’s death.

“God, it meant everything,” he added, referring to Reagan’s 1972 decision to pardon him.

We knew we loved Merle Haggard, but these quotes made us love him even more. Rest in peace, Merle!
