Joy Villa, a musical artist whose style can be described as ‘eclectic,’ made a big splash at Sunday’s Grammy Awards ceremony. An unabashed Donald Trump supporter, she bravely appeared at the show in a red, white and blue dress with the phrase ‘Make America Great Again’ emblazoned down the front and the name ‘Trump’ along the bottom.
Following her appearance at the Grammys, her EP “I Make the Static” jumped in ranking on Amazon from number 543,502 to number one!
Not only that, but, according to the Daily Wire, Amazon’s top six-ranked “movers and shakers” were all works by Villa.
Among the list of top selling albums, “I Make the Static” found itself ahead of such industry heavy-hitters as Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
On Tuesday, 98% of reviews on Amazon by those who had purchased “I Make the Static” gave it a five-out-of-five rating.
Following is a sampling of those reviews.
‘HollyJolly’ wrote: “I had never heard of Joy before the Grammy’s on Sunday night. But I decided to support her, and download her music. WOW! She is awesome. I love it. Cool mix of rock and vocals are amazing. I hope she releases a full album soon.”
‘Emmi’ posted: “Amazing voice as well as an amazing soul! Thank you for your beautiful voice & your courage at the Grammy’s! God bless you!”
‘Rock’ stated: “Great album. Wish I had heard her music sooner. Great to see a performer with the courage to add thought diversity to the artistic elites and willing to resist their bullying.”
After the Grammys, Ms. Villa took to Instagram, where she posted the following:
“Go big, or go home. You can either stand for what you believe or fall for what you don’t. Above all make a choice for tolerance and love. Agree to disagree. See the person over the politics, carry yourself with dignity, always. Life is made to be lived, so go boldly and give no effs!”
Seeing the degree of rigid left-wing orthodoxy in the entertainment industry, it is refreshing to see a member that industry show their beliefs unapologetically and proudly. It appears that, instead of hurting her career, Ms. Villa’s public display of her beliefs has enhance it.
Perhaps others in the industry of a conservative stripe will now feel empowered to show their true beliefs.
