While the Trump family and others gathered in the President’s Room at the U.S. Capitol building, Barron Trump was captured on camera playing peekaboo with his 9-month old nephew! Barron caught the attention of the media and the American people with his efforts to make the baby smile.
The gathering was part of inauguration tradition, and 10-year-old Barron’s cute games lightened the otherwise serious mood. He worked hard in the background to make Ivanka’s baby son Theodore smile, while his father Donald Trump signed his first official documents as President in the White House. It was a truly historic moment that was made memorable by the children.

The room was full of excitement as Trump signed the papers and gave away official pens, even exchanging some bipartisan laughs with members of Congress. Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Paul Ryan were among those standing by Trump’s side.
The Independent Journal Review said that Barron’s peekaboo games provided “refreshing moments of levity,” and that the small exchanges of laughter between the family served as a “nice reminder that behind the formality, politicians and their families are people, too.”
Barron did not appear at the concert the night before the inauguration, but he was in attendance throughout the official inauguration ceremonies on Friday. During his game of peekaboo he finally gave the American people a glimpse of his personality!
He certainly did a great job for a 10-year-old, standing by his father during what was surely a tiring day for the new First Family.
