Ted Cruz Drops A Bombshell At CPAC That Has People Asking, “What Does He Know?”

During his speech at CPAC yesterday, Ted Cruz made a comment that has media outlets buzzing.

“I think we’ll have another Supreme Court vacancy this summer,” Cruz told the conservative crowd on Thursday.

“If that happens, as much as the left is crazy now, they will go full Armageddon meltdown because the next vacancy is where we’ll have the ability to act and restore basic constitution protections.”

Cruz did not specify what he meant by his comment. Nor did he hint at who he thought which Supreme Court Justice might be leaving.

Is it is possible that the Texas senator knows something that we don’t?

Years ago, Cruz was a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist, and he still maintains friendships among many of the former clerks of the Supreme Court Justices. Many of these former clerks have information about the sitting judges, and rumors are that one of them may have leaked information to Cruz.

Some have surmised the Justice Anthony Kennedy may be retiring soon. Kennedy was nominated to the high court by Ronald Reagan in 1987 and he will turn 80 years old this summer.

Kennedy is considered a moderate on the court, and does not always reliably side with conservative decisions. If President Trump gets an opportunity to replace Kennedy with a young, staunchly conservative judge, that could have a profound impact on the court for decades.

The far-left liberal judge, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, will turn 83 next month. It is unlikely that she would willingly retire while President Trump is in office, knowing that she would be replaced by a conservative. Nonetheless, at her age, health issues could force her to retire before Trump’s term is up.

There are also rumors that Clarence Thomas may be interested in retiring. While he is only 68 years old, he is one of the most conservative judges on the high court, and he would like to retire during a conservative presidency. Nonetheless, his wife disputes the rumors that he is ready to retire.

Ted Cruz is right – if Trump is given an opportunity to nominate a second Supreme Court Justice within the first 6 months of his presidency, the liberal establishment will be apoplectic.

Thank God Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton last fall. The current president may have an opportunity to nominate as many as 4 justices over the next few years. Let’s pray that he gets that opportunity!
