President Trump has made a bold decision to deploy 50 judges to deportation centers throughout the United States. The “law and order” President is working hard to keep his promises when it comes to immigration.
The Young Conservatives report that there is an “enormous backlog of cases pending deportation,” and that Trump “is working on changes to speed up the process.” One of the changes the Trump administration is focused on, is making sure to deport any and all illegal aliens that have already been through the system. The President wants to prioritize illegal immigrants who have records of violent crime and reckless behavior.
The judges were deployed by the Department of Justice and sent to immigration detention facilities, “according to two sources and a letter seen by Reuters and sent to judges on Thursday.”
There was a plan for the judges to work in rotating shifts so that courts were active from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and more cases could be seen. A prior order had allowed expedited deportation for those only in the country less than two weeks, but has now been expanded to include anyone here illegally that has been here for less than two years. That opens up a lot more cases for immediate deportation.
Obama’s “catch and release” is no longer on the table. “The order called for the end of a policy known as ‘catch and release,’ by which immigrants were released from detention and given a date to appear in court. Immigration courts have a backlog of over 550,000 cases, according to the Justice Department’s data, so many court dates are set years into the future.”
President Trump’s judges will make a significant dent in the backlog of cases burdening our government. It’s time for illegal immigrants to face the consequences of their actions!
