I have known three-year-old children who handle losing better than Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Clinton, who despite having a huge advantage in campaign funds and almost the entire American media in her corner, lost to a man who had never before held a political office.
On Tuesday, Clinton spoke with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour at the Women for Women’s International event, and gave her views on who to blame for her historic November defeat.
Perhaps aware that many folks inside her own party have been critical of her attempts to blame everyone but herself for her failed campaign, Hillary took personal responsibility – sort of:
“I take absolute personal responsibility. I was the candidate, I was the person who was on the ballot. I am very aware of the challenges, the problems, the shortfalls that we had…”
Of course, she then proceeded to pin the blame on everything and everyone other than herself, insisting that she was “on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey’s letter on October 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me and got scared off.”
Ultimately, claimed Hillary, “If the election had been on October 27, I would be your president.”
The Clinton-Amanpour interview did not escape the attention of President Trump. He took to Twitter and posted the following: “FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds! The phony…”
Of course, Trump is absolutely correct in his analysis. Anyone in the country not named Clinton (or Obama, for that matter) would be currently clad head-to-toe in orange and looking forward to the day’s hour of exercise in the prison yard if they had done the misdeeds Mrs. Clinton did during her time as Secretary of State.
Trump also pointed out the nonsense of the Hillary/Democrat claims of Trump-Russia collusion, tweeting:
“The phony Trump/Russia story was an excuse used by the Democrats as justification for losing the election. Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign?”
Hillary Clinton’s petulant act is getting old. She is a two-time failed presidential candidate for the presidency.
She was an awful candidate who ran one of the worst presidential campaigns in American history. And that’s it.
