On Wednesday, Fox News officially fired their popular host Bill O’Reilly after a series of sexual harassment allegations against him came to light. Immediately after he was let go from the network, O’Reilly was hit with even more bad news…
Daily Mail reported that two new women have come forward to accuse O’Reilly of sexual harassment in the wake of his termination from Fox. The two women have been identified as Fox News contributor Jehmu Greene and Caroline Heldman, who occasionally makes guest appearances on the network.
Greene spoke out after O’Reilly was fired to say that he once made a comment about breaking her back. Meanwhile, Heldman alleges that she was subjected to “sex discrimination and retaliation” and reported those allegations to the Fox news hotline. Attorney Lisa Bloom, who is representing many of O’Reilly’s accusers, is now representing Heldman.
Greene claims O’Reilly encouraged her to show more cleavage back in 2007 while she was preparing for an appearance on Fox. When O’Reilly took her to dinner after a show in 2009, he allegedly said that while she might want to “break his bank” on her meal choice he was more interested in breaking her back.
“I don’t think that these comments were focused from a sexual standpoint,” said Greene. “I think they were more of a power standpoint to put me in my place.”
This came after O’Reilly released a statement defending himself from the allegations against him.
“Over the past 20 years at Fox News, I have been extremely proud to launch and lead one of the most successful news programs in history, which has consistently informed and entertained millions of Americans and significantly contributed to building Fox into the dominant news network in television,” O’Reilly said. “It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today.”
