Over the last few weeks, it looked like the GOP establishment had finally accepted that Donald Trump would be the Republican nominee. Then the Trump University scandal blew up this week…
Now, new reports have claimed that the controversy surrounding the Trump University case has reawakened the GOP establishment’s hopes that they can introduce another candidate to take Trump down. Red State reported that rumors are spreading that former candidate Scott Walker has made it clear that he will accept the nomination at the convention if Trump’s campaign continues to go downhill.
Walker added fuel to these rumors during an interview on Friday in which he went back on this endorsement.
“[Trump] is not yet the nominee,” Walker said. “Officially that won’t happen until the middle of July and for me that’s kind of the timeframe. In particular I want to make sure he renounces what he says, at least in regards to this judge.”
Everyone in America knows that Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee. The fact that Walker is saying he is “not yet the nominee” shows that he is one of the members of the GOP establishment that are hoping Trump will fall at the final hurdle.
Unfortunately for Walker and his cronies, we aren’t going to let that happen!
