A Federal Judge has blocked a sneaky provision of Obamacare, in which abortion and transgender services are covered. A writer for Young Conservatives, says “Apparently, there is a provision in Obamacare that mandated abortion and transgender coverage in order to stop ‘sex discrimination’,” and that the mandates could intrude on religious freedoms.
The Washington Times cites the Department of Health and Human Services Affordable Care Act, “which prohibits ‘sex’ discrimination in the provision of health care, to mean that hospitals, insurance companies and other health care entities that receive federal funding must cover or perform abortions and sex-reassignment surgeries, even if doing so would violate their religious beliefs.”
U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor of Texas, blocked the mandate this weekend right before it went into effect. Judge O’Connor has a history of opposing liberal policies.
Buzzfeed shared Judge O’Connor’s explanation of the lawsuit:
“Plaintiffs claim the Rule’s interpretation of sex discrimination pressures doctors to deliver healthcare in a manner that violates their religious freedom and thwarts their independent medical judgment and will require burdensome changes to their health insurance plans on January 1, 2017.”
There is a temporary restraining order on the mandate, and the battle is not over.
Liberals want to force their pro-choice and gender wavering agendas on conservatives – but this takes things way too far. Even moderate pro-choice bases believe in restrictions and privatized funding for abortion and gender reassignment surgeries.
It seems fair to mention that Obama is always more than happy to support the religious freedoms of Muslims – but when it comes to Judeo-Christian values he is silent.
Thankfully Judge O’Connor did something to stop the madness of Obamacare!
