Last week, Glenn Frey, founder of the great band, the Eagles, passed away at the age of 67. For those of you unfamiliar with the Eagles, please watch the attached video. “Get Over It” is one of the greatest, in-your-face, Conservative rock and roll songs. It encourages people to stop thinking of themselves as a victim, pull themselves up by the bootstraps, and get a life. It also pokes fun of political correctness in a big way.
Read the opening lyrics below and have a good laugh. Then, by all means, listen to the video (with lyrics attached)!
A whole lotta people cryin’ “Don’t blame me”
They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else
Spend all their time feelin’ sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma’s too thin; your daddy’s too fat
Get over it
All this whinin’ and cryin’ and pitchin’ a fit
Get over it, get over it
Glenn Frey died on January 18, 2016, from complications associated with rheumatoid arthritis and pneumonia.
The Eagles is a truly great American rock and roll band. Glenn Frey, you will be sorely missed. We salute you!
