President-elect Donald Trump is giving us all a Christmas present! It’s his approval of the term “Merry Christmas,” something which has become demonized, particularly during the anti-Christian Obama years. (Remember, the Obamas won’t even allow one single reference to Jesus Christ in any of the White House Christmas decorations. Not even the antique nativity scene, which had been proudly displayed in the East room for almost 50 years and 9 administrations.) Anyhow, that’s in the past now, thankfully! Trump is bringing back the right for Christians to enjoy their own religion.
During his 2016 bid for the White House, Trump proclaimed, “The word Christmas. I love Christmas. I love Christmas. You go to stores, you don’t see the word Christmas. It says happy holidays all over. I say, ‘Where’s Christmas?’ I tell my wife, ‘Don’t go to those stores.’”
In a 2015 interview with Yellowhammer Radio, Trump said, “I go out of my way to use the word ‘Christmas.” He then went on to explain, “There’s an assault on anything having to [do] with Christianity. They don’t want to use the word ‘Christmas’ anymore at department stores. There’s always lawsuits and unfortunately a lot of those lawsuits are won by the other side.” Trump then declared to his interviewer that he will fight, and win, on behalf of Christians who simply want to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. He said that, as president, “I will assault [the anti-Christmas faction]. I will go so strongly against so many of the things, when they take away the word Christmas.”
