Law Enforcement Cracks Down, Arrests 160 Illegal Immigrants

Immigration officials have swept multiple states and made over 160 arrests of illegal immigrants.

Breitbart reports that ICE, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has confirmed that 160 illegal aliens were arrested in Southern California and Los Angeles.

Immigration raids are normal protocol and happened frequently under Obama’s watch. Now that it’s Trump, however, the left is protesting the routine and necessary practices. The immigration actions took place in California, Georgia, two other unnamed states, and possibly more locations. According to The Washington Post, although federal immigration officials declined to give numbers on the arrests, immigration activists claim six states were effected.

The anger towards President Trump from the left is misplaced. The raids are not part of any new policies under the Trump administration. Which means that the actions are following suit with everything that happened while Obama was in office. Trump hasn’t had the time to deal with Mexican illegal immigration since the threat from the Middle East is a bit more urgent. Gangs are scary, but ISIS is scarier.

Virginia Kice, an ICE spokesperson, told the Los Angeles Times the arrests were “routine” and had nothing to do with policy or the new administration. Kice said, “Our operations are targeted and lead driven, prioritizing individuals who pose a risk to our communities. Examples would include known street gang members, child sex offenders, and deportable foreign nationals with significant drug trafficking convictions.” Sounds like the real deplorables are hiding out in Los Angeles as undocumented immigrants.

Sadly, activists and lawyers are coming to the criminals rescue. They are claiming people with no criminal record have been arrested by ICE, faking tears about families being “torn apart” and “good people” being unfairly treated.

Guess what, liberal activists? Living here illegally is a crime. Try traveling to Mexico and staying there illegally to live and work for years, while sending money back to the United States. That would risk more than an arrest. There are legal immigrants in the U.S. who have fought tooth and nail to become citizens of the country – and are still struggling. Why not advocate for American citizens?
