Among the things that have become very clear since November’s election is that the anti-Trump legions will never tire of protests and demonstrations against the presidency of Donald Trump.
Something called the ‘Halt Action Group’ has called on protesters to converge on the New York residence of Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner on January 16.
The security risks of the convergence of an unknown number of unvetted radicals outside the home of the President-elect’s daughter and her family should be obvious to anyone. Will they get physically aggressive? Based on past actions of the anti-Trumpers, it seems likely. And what of the worst case scenario, that one amongst the crowd has a weapon and attempts to physically harm Ivanka and her family?
The protest, which has been organized via an Instagram campaign called ‘Dear Ivanka,’ requests protesters to show up with boxes bearing slogans like “Sane Foreign Diplomacy,” “Health Care,” and “Immigration.”
Halt Action Group issued a press release which included the statement “The boxes represent freedoms that people are fearful of losing.” Well, Trump offers a foreign policy far saner than the bellicosity and incoherency offered by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, an immigration plan that puts American citizens first, and the possibility of a health care plan that functions much better than the deeply flawed Affordable Care Act (commonly known as “Obamacare”).
Dear @ivankatrump, Once upon a time, there was no Twitter. Back in those days, when you were 8, a famous rich man was enraged by one of the biggest crime stories of the day and took out a full-page ad in New York newspapers, using $85,0000 of his own money. His ad carried the headline “BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY – Bring back the police.” The crime was the notorious rape of the white woman known as the Central Park Jogger. Five young black men were convicted of the crime and imprisoned; they came to be known as the Central Park five. In the ad, this man advocated that they be given the electric chair. He wrote, “I am not looking to psychoanalyze or understand them, I am looking to punish them.” He went on – "I want to hate and I always will.” It was not clear if the second half of the statement refers to a declaration that the man will always hate or a declaration that he will always want to hate. The man, of course, was Donald Trump. Wikipedia tells us, “In 2002, Matias Reyes, confessed to raping the jogger, and DNA evidence confirmed his involvement in Meili's rape. He also said he committed the rape alone.” Donald Trump however remained unconvinced. If he had his way, those five men would have been executed back in 1989 when you were 8. He still thinks they should have been killed. That man did hate – and it seems he always will. We are the HALT psychoanalysts. We understand hate, we know all of us hate at times, but what we want, at the end of the day, is to psychoanalyze, and we always will. Yours, @dasunbehagen @permanentoedipalregression @tracedoris #centralparkfive #ivankatrump #psychoanalysis #dearivanka
Dear @Ivankatrump, We were alarmed to hear about the transgender man who was slashed in the face and stabbed in the arm on Christmas Day after offering his seat to the perpetrator's cousin on the subway in New York. So many seem emboldened by this election to commit hate crimes, to graffiti missives of discrimination, targeting anyone antithetical to those who see themselves as rising again, becoming the greatness they imagine they have a right to be. The winners, as they like to tell us here @dear_ivanka again and again. Ivanka, these are politically motivated acts of violence spurred on by your father's campaign, against people like the ones you have spent time with in the fashion and art world in New York where you grew up. Here you are, a young model, hanging out at the drag queen bar, Lucky Chengs. You loved us losers once. Cry Babies a la John Waters. One of us knew you then, she was a model too, and she remembers how badly you wanted to fit in, how you would bum cigarettes even though you didn't smoke, and how you wanted to be part of this world where to dress up was to be free, all of us dragging our way to another life. She knew you wanted another vision of yourself, that you didn't want to be the little rich girl branded with a name that you merely inherited. This is the beauty of drag, of trans, of queer: life turns inside out and upside down and you live and love in this vertigo. And Isn't this a palpable truth about America- that the ones who have nothing to lose, the displaced and dispossessed, are the ones who find the ground. Were you in drag then? Or are you in drag now, Ivanka? Tell us, we need to know. #ivankatrump #dearivanka #johnwaters #luckychengs
While Ivanka’s husband Jared will be working in the role of Senior Advisor to the President when they arrive in Washington D.C., Ivanka herself has made clear that her time will be devoted raising the couple’s three children.
Ivanka posted on Facebook: “I plan to take time to settle our three young children into their new home and schools.”
She further posted:
“When my father takes office as the 45th President of the United States of America, I will take a formal leave of absence from The Trump Organization and my eponymous apparel and accessories brand. I will no longer be involved with the management or operations of either company.”
Did anyone think that the hysterical left would have the decency to make attacks on a mother devoted to the successful upbringing of her children off limits? Of course not!
Are the members of the unhinged left concerned in the slightest for the real threat to life and limb that the protest outside Ivanka’s home presents? Of course not!
As seen by sucker punches and eggs thrown at Trump supporters during the campaign, and by Rosie O’Donnell’s social media remarks making sport of 10-year old Baron Trump and autism, the wretched liberal wingnuts have proven, once again, that they have no shame!
