According to reports from the French-language Journal de Montreal, access levels for four employees of Montreal’s Trudeau International Airport were scaled back as law enforcement discovered they had become radicalized by Islam.
The Montreal Gazette, following up on the original story, reported that “the four employees, at least two who still work at the airport have shown signs of radicalization that police investigators consider worrisome. Some visited pro-ISIL websites, published propaganda on social media and consulted an abnormal number of documents explaining how to make homemade explosives, the Journal says.”
Of course, having our airport workers engaged with radical Islam puts all travelers at risk. But not surprisingly, the media has not done much to cover this story.
The Montreal Gazette report continues:
“One employee, who had access to the airport’s runways and airplanes, made comments about the November 2015 Paris attacks that killed 130 people.
“The report suggests the employees either don’t work for the airport anymore or have been reassigned to positions far from the runway and airplanes.”
Four airport employees may have become radicalized, yet two are still working their jobs near the runway and airplanes, and the other two may still work for the airport in some capacity!
Unbelievable… This should make any person outraged and afraid.
Of course, individuals in a free and democratic society such as Canada’s are entitled to due process to an extent. But when concern for the employment status and feelings of employees who quite possibly mean to harm large numbers of civilians is deemed more important than the safety of those they may wish to harm, then that society has a real big problem.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the great Canadian appeaser-in-chief, stated yesterday that “When issues come to light we deal with them in a responsible way, we look into what happened and how we can ensure that Canadians remain safe in air travel.”
Is “a responsible way” code words for “halfway measures that won’t upset Muslims”?
One year ago, jihadist Abu al-Ayna al-Ansari boasted in an interview that “The Islamic State has agents all around the very sensitive facilities in the world, like metro stations, like airports and other places whether in the West or in the Arab world. We have our mujahedeen implanted in those facilities as workers, as employees, even in the security field in the airports.”
An NBC News article in June, 2015, reported that the U.S.’s Transportation Security Administration “failed to identify 73 aviation employees with active clearance badges with links to terrorism.”
Why the failure? Because the TSA “is not authorized to receive all terrorism-related information under current inter-agency policies.”
The jihadis may be evil but they are not dumb. They will continue to exploit every weakness western nations have when it comes to safety of those nations citizens, unless those nations get serious – very serious – about the depth of the threat that is radical Islam.
