Here’s What the Obamas Did in Front of Justice Scalia’s Body

When a Supreme Court Justice dies, it is standard for the president to attend his or her funeral — even if they were on opposite sides of the political spectrum. But Obama didn’t even make it to Justice Scalia’s funeral on Saturday.

Instead, he spent a few seconds to have a “moment of silence” in front of Scalia’s casket, as his body lay in repose at the Supreme Court.

The public was cleared from the room as the Obamas arrived. Obama bowed his head for a quick 30 seconds; the couple made it clear they had no intentions of sticking around. They exited the Supreme Court as soon as they could.

Perhaps the most sickening display during the moment of silence was by First Lady Michelle Obama. Look at what she was doing during all 30 seconds:

The fact that Scalia’s political beliefs did not align with Obama’s shouldn’t mean anything in this situation. Justice Scalia was a good man who was on our Supreme Court for decades, and he deserves the respect of having the President of the United States at his funeral. It’s sickening that Obama continues to disrespect Scalia after his death every chance he gets.
