The sex doll industry has come a long way, baby.

Although sex dolls have existed for decades, the newest creations out of Abyss Creations have moved sex dolls into the future.

Founder of Abyss Creations, Matthew McMullen, has a small team of employees who spend each day meticulously assembling the company’s cutting edge product, ‘RealDolls.’

Each RealDoll is amazingly realistic physically, with carefully constructed bodies, faces, genitalia, and even customized fake nipples.

RealDolls have flexible skeletons and are made with silicone, as opposed to plastic, which, according to the company’s website, creates a more realistic feel to each doll.

The cost to purchase a RealDoll starts at around $6,500, although the cost of customized dolls start at around $12,000.

The flexible doll skeleton is important as it allows the doll’s owner to bend the doll into any number of positions. The silicone body retains heat and feels much more realistic than the old plastic models. The realism of each doll is also greatly enhanced with its ‘soft, stretchy lips, ultra soft tongue, soft silicone teeth.’

The RealDoll concept came to McMullen in 1994 when crafting a female figure for an art project. The key was to use silicone instead of plastic for the doll’s body, creating a generation of sex dolls with greatly enhanced realness.

But perhaps the greatest breakthrough with RealDolls is that they have artificial intelligence, giving them the ability to respond to a person’s touch and create a feeling of real intimacy.

On a Reddit post, McMullen stated: “We are designing the AI to be fun and engaging, more than focusing on whether it can fool you into thinking it’s a person.”

With Abyss Creations’ RealDoll, it may only be a matter of time before Ava and Kyoko, the ultra-realistic artificial intelligence – endowed human creations of the 2015 movie Ex Machina, become reality.
