Megyn Kelly was once the darling of Fox News, but those days are long gone. In the past few months, rumors have circulated that Kelly would like to leave Fox News so that she can appeal to a more mainstream audience. Now, the network has finally had enough of her disrespecting them.
On Monday, Fox host Andrea Tantaros filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the network. The lawsuit alleged that Fox News executive Bill Shine, who was promoted to the network’s president after Roger Ailes’ departure, reportedly ordered on-air talent to not defend Kelly from attacks against her made by Donald Trump.
“After Donald Trump attacked Megyn Kelly for allegedly treating him unfairly in an August 2015 Republican Presidential Debate, Fox News publicly backed Kelly in the dispute,” the court papers claim, according to Daily Mail. “However, Shine executed Ailes’s tactic of playing both sides of the fence by instructing all on-air talent that none of them should defend Kelly against Trump.”
Shine has denied Tantaros’ allegations.
This was just one of the many bombshells that Tantaros dropped in her lawsuit. She also claimed she was subjected to unwanted sexual advances at the hands of Ailes as well as Bill O’Reilly and Scott Brown.
“Fox News masquerades as a defender of traditional family values, but behind the scenes, it operates like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny,” Tantaros claimed.
The lawsuit also names current co-president Bill Shine, Executive Vice President Dianne Brandi, publicist Irena Briganti and Executive Vice President Suzanne Scott as defendants. Tantaros is asking for $50 million in damages.
Clearly, Fox News has finally had enough of Megyn Kelly’s nonsense. If she didn’t want them to turn on her, she never should have messed with them in the first place!
