In honor of International Women’s Day, Melania Trump played host to a gathering of about 50 female guests in the White House State Dining Room.
As she entered the room wearing a sleeveless black dress, she received a rousing standing ovation from the guests in attendance.
Among the guests in attendance were First daughter Ivanka Trump, Second Lady Karen Pence and daughter Charlotte Pence, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine, and indispensable White House advisor Kellyanne Conway.
Mrs. Trump then addressed the assembled with these words:
“I will always stay true to myself
And be truthful to you
No matter what the opposition
Is saying about me
I will act in the best interests
Of all of you
I’m committed to creating
And supporting initiatives
Dear to my heart
Which will have an impact
On all women and children
All around the world…”
The First Lady has resided in Manhattan at Trump Tower with son Baron. They will remain there until the close of the school year, then join the President to live at the White House.
Melania is not the only Trump lady working on women’s issues. Ivanka has a book due out soon, “Women Who Work.”
In addition, she has teamed with Goldman Sachs exec Dina Powell, now White House advisor, on promoting entrepreneurship issues for women.
Another endeavor Ivanka has been working on is the United States Canada Council for the Advancement of Women Business Leaders and Female Entrepreneurs.
No doubt about it, the Trump women are rocking it.
And those were truly wonderful words Melania spoke in her address.
