The New York Times is reporting that large numbers of entrenched bureaucrats within the federal government are trying to covertly sabotage President Donald Trump and his policies.
Many of the federal employees are using encrypted devices, similar to those used by ISIS terrorists, so that their messages cannot be intercepted and read.
The Times reports that “Trump’s arrival in the White House has spread anxiety, frustration, fear and resistance among many of the two million nonpolitical civil servants who say they work for the public, not a particular president.”
“Nonpolitical”? Oh really? If these so-called civil servants were “nonpolitical”, they would be doing exactly what they are told by the leaders who were duly elected. It’s disgraceful that these overpaid government workers think they “know better” about what is good for the public.
This week, a group of scientists within the Environmental Protection Agency got together and strategized about how to slow-walk, or even ignore, Trump’s environmental executive orders without being fired.
And the Times is reporting that employees within the United States Digital Service are trying to figure out how to stop Mr. Trump, should he want to use the databases they made more efficient to target specific immigrant groups.
Even more troubling are the leaks coming from the State Department and the Department of Defense.
Fox News is reporting that transcripts of the president’s private calls to various heads of state were published immediately after the calls. And all of Trump’s executive order drafts have been secretly leaked well before being announced to the public.
Unfortunately, our government has become so enormous that there are too many places for leaks to occur. These “enemies from within” must be revealed and criminally prosecuted.
And now, there are hints that such prosecutions are coming.
Congressman Devin Nunes, (R-CA) has put the FBI on notice that there will be investigations into these leaks, and the violators will be held accountable.
Barrack Obama wildly expanded the federal government. All these rogue government employees should join the former president and leave the government. If things get bad enough, Trump should just slash and burn these bloated government work forces.
