Megyn Kelly has been desperately trying to succeed since leaving Fox, but her fledgling show, “Megyn Kelly Today,” and her plummeting ratings, have brought NBC executives to the inevitable conclusion…Kelly isn’t a “viable” savior of the “Today” show.
Tuesday morning, heavy hitters Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie, co-authors of the new book “Let Trump Be Trump: The Inside Story of His Rise to the Presidency,” skipped out on Kelly’s morning show to appear on Breitbart News Daily instead.
SiriusXM host Alex Marlow pointed out that their last minute cancellation of Kelly’s show is all over the Internet, and that it was a brilliant P.R. move on their part.
“We’d rather be with you guys!” Lewandowski told hosts Marlow and Steve Bannon. “Plus your ratings are ten times higher than hers, don’t worry!”
“Megyn Kelly is getting the lowest ratings in more than a decade for the Today show, okay?” Lewandowski pointed out, as the rest of the interview group chuckled. “Seven people are watching it right now, and you got 20 million listeners over here. I’ll take my chances with “Let Trump Be Trump” right here, baby.”
“This is MAGA,” Bannon declared, suggesting the book as an ideal Christmas gift for relatives who dislike President Trump. “I think it’s going to flip 20 percent of the Trump-haters.”
Bossie agreed with Bannon, that their book would be the perfect gift for people who don’t like President Trump, as well as for those who do, because it’s the inside story, and everyone will want to read it.
These are the facts, the numbers are in, and “Megyn Kelly Today” is dragging down the “Today” show franchise, an insider reported to Page Six.
“Not only are ratings plummeting since Kelly joined the ‘Today’ franchise, but the numbers show Kelly’s lead-in has also affected Kathie Lee [Gifford] and Hoda Kotb’s show, which follows straight afterwards,” a source said.
“They’ve taken a huge hit with Kelly as their lead-in,” the insider added. Kelly is single-handedly bringing all of NBC morning shows down. Totally worth the yearly $18 million salary NBC is paying her, isn’t she?
