Critics have said that repealing Obamacare could put more than 20 million Americans at risk for losing insurance coverage. Donald Trump, as always, has a response for his critics.
Trump has announced over the weekend that he HAS a plan – and under his plan there will indeed be “insurance for everybody.”
The Washington Post reports that President-elect Trump “is nearing completion of a plan to replace President Obama’s signature health-care law,” and that he vows “to force drug companies to negotiate directly with the government on prices in Medicare and Medicaid.”
The main theme among Republican replacement bills is competition. Republican healthcare bills presented back in 2010 allowed for the purchase of insurance plans across state lines. But as always, Democrats prefer the government control everything – no matter how much of a mess Obamacare has become.
The Affordable Care Act may have extended coverage to millions, but Democrats refuse to admit that Obamacare has raised premiums, drastically reduced the quality of care, and forced many to leave their Doctors.
Trump has promised to target pharmaceutical companies over drug prices, which have been too high for too long. Trump said drug companies have been “politically protected, but not anymore.” Finally we will have a tough businessman in the office who knows how to negotiate.
Of course the new healthcare plan might face resistance in Congress. In fact, everything about the Trump movement has faced resistance – but Trump and his supporters keep winning!
The President-elect told The Washington Post that “Congress can’t get cold feet because the people will not let that happen.” Donald Trump is ready to silence his critics on both sides of the aisle in his first 100 days!
