BREAKING: GOP Preparing To Enter New Candidate In Race To Defeat Trump

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks during an interview with The Associated Press in Sterling, Va., Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015. Trump says that if he’s elected president, he’ll know within six months whether he can achieve an elusive peace accord between Israelis and Palestinians, one of the world’s most vexing challenges. But the Republican presidential candidate says he has doubts about each side’s commitment to the peace process. (AP Photo/Andrew Harnik)

Members of the GOP establishment are becoming increasingly desperate to take the nomination away from frontrunner Donald Trump because they know they’ll never be able to control him. Now, insiders are saying the Republican elite has hatched a last-ditch plan to steal the nomination from Trump by entering another candidate in the race.

According to The Political Insider, retired four-star General James Mattis implied in several recent interviews that he is considering joining the presidential race, possibly as a third party candidate. His name has already been floated by members of the GOP elite like Bill Kristol of the Weekly Standard, who say he is a great alternative to Trump for members of the establishment. He also has the support of many members of the military.

”I’ve lived a very colorful life and I’ve said some things,” Mattis recently said in a speech. “But not once have I taken them back, and I’ve never apologized for them — and I won’t. I like the enemy knowing there are a few guys like me around.”

Mattis has a blunt way of speaking that has many members of the establishment thinking that he is the perfect person to take on Trump. Some of the former general’s most well known quotes actually sound very much like things Trump would say:

“The first time you blow someone away is not an insignificant event. That said, there are some a**holes in the world that just need to be shot.”

“I come in peace. I didn’t bring artillery. But I’m pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you f*** with me, I’ll kill you all.”

“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”

Mattis is an American hero who ran the First Marine Division into the Euphrates River Valley at the beginning of the Iraq War, and we can’t thank him enough for his service. Though he has our respect and gratitude, he would undoubtedly steal votes from the Republican nominee if he entered the race as a third party candidate. Since this would likely hand the election to Hillary Clinton, we can’t throw our support his way.

Frankly, it’s time the GOP establishment puts a stop to this nonsense and starts backing Trump as their candidate. The people have made it clear what they want, and it’s time for the Republican elite to listen. SHARE this story if you think they should get behind The Donald!
